- Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Indian.
- Age Limit:
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 1st July 2025 (born between 2nd July 2001 to 1st July 2005).
- Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as of 1st July 2025 (born between 2nd July 1999 to 1st July 2005).
- Educational Qualification:
- Flying Branch: Minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation in any discipline with 60% marks or equivalent.
- Ground Duty Technical: A degree in Engineering/Technology with 60% marks.
- Ground Duty Non-Technical: Graduation in any discipline with 60% marks for Administration and Logistics. For Accounts, B.Com with 60% marks.
- Selection Process:
- AFCAT Exam: Online test consisting of General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning & Military Aptitude Test.
- EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test): Only for candidates applying for the Technical branch.
- AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) Testing: Shortlisted candidates from the AFCAT exam will be called for AFSB testing which includes:
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and Discussion Test.
- Stage II: Psychological test, Group Tests, and Interview.
- CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System): Only for Flying Branch candidates.
- Exam Pattern:
- AFCAT Exam:
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Questions: 100 questions.
- Marks: 300 marks (3 marks for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong answer).
- EKT Exam:
- Duration: 45 minutes.
- Questions: 50 questions.
- Marks: 150 marks (3 marks for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong answer).

How to fill Indian Airforce AFCAT 02/2024 form?
Aspirants for IAF are required to apply online by using the link https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in, or https://afcat.cdac.in.
Applicants will be required to complete the process of Online Application form which will have the following sequences.
Click “CANDIDATE LOGIN’’ on the Home page- leads to AFCAT Sign-in. In the next page, applicants to click “NOT YET REGISTERED? REGISTER HERE”.
Sign Up: Creation of Log-in ID and applicant will receive a password in his/her registered email id.
After successful registration, sign-in with registered email id and system generated password.
Reset Password- Log-Out (candidates must remember their login ID and password for future use during the examination process).
Fresh Log-in. Selection of Entry: “AFCAT”; “NCC SPECIAL ENTRY FOR FLYING BRANCH”. (viii) 7 Click “INSTRUCTIONS”. Read Instructions carefully.
Acknowledgement of having read and understood instructions- Check box to proceed to next stage.
Click “FILL APPLICATION FORM” (aa) Personal Details. Fill in details. Click “SAVE AND CONTINUE” At this stage confirmation box will appear for re-verification of the following details:- • Name • Father’s Name • Mother’s Name • Date of Birth • Gender
Upload recent Photo, Signature & Thumb Impression (size of each jpg/ jpeg file to be between 10 and 50 kb).
